Sean and I had plans on Sunday to take a tour of Princeton, but it was raining, and since I haven't yet realized that people hate redundancy, I'll remind everyone that I really hate rain. Staying in left us with a great opportunity to play Sean's latest and greatest board game, Ticket To Ride.
This game required so much concentration on my part. The fact that it's for ages 8+ should surprise none of you. Anyway, for 2 games I was the victor and Sean was a giant loser. I felt a little badly for him, considering it was HIS game and he has been so excited to play it....and presumably beat me. Anyway, he always asks if I "wanna play again" when he's losing b/c he wants to play until he wins. I allowed this, played a 3rd game, and Sean won. We were having so much fun that we played a 4th game, but the FUN ENDED WHEN SEAN BLOCKED MY TRAIN ROUTE AGAIN FORCING ME TO LOSE A SECOND GAME!!!
Now, it's just on. There is no way around it. I know the next time that Sean and I hang out, we'll have to have a tie-breaker, and it's going to be brutal. I really REALLY need to beat him at this game that is for 8 yr-olds.Current Mood: Competitive

So, for some reason I was recently asked who my first "celebrity" crush was, and this is totally easy, it was Alex P. Keaton (Michael J. Fox) from Family Ties. I started thinking about why I liked Alex so much.....it definitely wasn't because he said 'sore-y' instead of 'sorry,' because that actually bothered me a lot as a child. Could it have been the interpretive dance he performed to try to win Ellen that symbolized the Stock Market Crash of 1929? Was it that time that he asked Mallory to dance because her date had run off with some hussy? How about when he crammed for finals by taking speed? It was all of these things and more, I think....and don't even entertain the thought that I ever stopped appreciating those v-neck sweaters with his initials embroidered on them, NOT A CHANCE. I still want one for myself. So anyway, Alex was short, shorter than Mallory. Even growing up this seemed like a problem to me. So I started wondering if it was Alex's looks at all that peaked my interest, or just his incredibly winning personality and love of Ronald Reagan and economics. Here is a brief timeline of Alex's (Michael's) career and whether he was, in my opinion, "Hot or Not": Family Ties (1982-89) - HOT Back to the Future (1985) - Not Teen Wolf (1985) - Not The Secret of My Succe$s (1987) - eh Bright Lights, Big City (1988) - Hot The Hard Way (1991) - Not Doc Hollywood (1991) - Not ...and so on and so forth with more 'Not's because Alex wasn't taking the best roles for someone with his talent (again, in my opinion). Now I may be wrong, but the only similarity I can think of between Alex and Jamie's character in 'Bright Lights, Big City' was the drug use...and maybe the financial success on the horizon? Not great things for me to find attractive, but also not a major surprise. I came to the conclusion, though, that Jamie was just an extension of Alex....what could've happened if Alex made some poor choices or fell in with the wrong Wall Street crowd.... Bottom Line: ALL ROADS LEAD TO A.P.K. I still love him, even after all these years... Current Mood: in love

We parked the car, walked about a block, and were greeted by this Holocaust Memorial... It was disturbing. So, now I was really in the mood to see the cute aquarium animals....but first, I tried this on, Then, after buying it, we moved on to the frogs. They were very photogenic. I thought this was an actual frog, but Josh has taken a picture of the wall. I felt duped. Then it was DOLPHIN SHOW TIME! Chesapeake and Shiloh were adorable. I wanted SO BADLY to be chosen to volunteer for something, but it turns out they only needed one volunteer, and he had been picked beforehand because it was his 8th Birthday or some shit. He had VIP seating. I didn't have a chance. Then we walked through my favorite part, the shark tank. It was too dark for photos, but here's a great shot of me and my favorite animal, instead. After the aquarium, we stared at Ravins fans. Yeah, they were wearing really ugly purple Ravins T-shirts and jerseys, but I was waiting for the purple camo pants. I finally saw them, but the owner was too elusive for me to capture on film. I ended the day with a piece of 6 carb cheesecake. Then, on the way home, I had my photo taken with Bob from Bob's Big Boy... I've never eaten at his restaurant, but he seemed like a good guy. I called out of work today. The End.
